hi all, havent been on here for quite some time, had trouble free motoring!!!! well im starting to really get annoyed with the headlining on my p38 and have decided this winter to rip it out and recover it, but i have one request if one of you can help me out.

the cloth material has sagged in multiple places but thats not the main problem, im thinking the actual headlining structure is shot as if you place your hands on it your able to push it upwards by at least 1-2 inches, can someone take a quick look at theirs and tell me if there is any play/movement in their, it only seems to be the area where the sunroof would go(by the way its a non-sunroof model).

Thanks.

ive looked at them before and have seen their work and its good, but ive not got the spare time to go up there and leave it with them. im going to get the cloth from woolies as they do a spot on colour match and im thinking i can do it myself over a weekend for little cost just want to make sure the backing board of the headlining is ok before i retrim it.

i think there is a fibreglass replcement for these, have a look around.

ive been looking for quite some time and pretty much everyone will not deliver one due to the risk of damage. Im starting to think that i may try and get a good second hand one and then retrim that so theres no time factor to worry about.

So where do you get them then?

hard to get 2nd hand, i have been looking, rang a guy on the recommendation of someone here and I got a quote for £110 to £120 that's not so bad, but its using the head-liner I have in there already, so not an ideal situation as the thing could drop again and if you pay to do it again then you might as well have had the fibreglass one done in the fist place, be a lot cheaper in the end as you wont have to travel back and forth 4 times (£80 each way from where i live)

I contacted Nationwide Trim in the past for a Classic headling and they were willing to send it. I believe they quoted £50 for shipping.

Hi, dunno if yours is the same as a classic, but what I found with mine was that the foam between the cloth and the backing board had deteriorated, I removed all the foam then recovered the board with a felt like material. Had to do this as I had bobtailed mine and the roof lininig no longer fitted.
