... im lifting my disco 2" this weekend too cope with the new tyres, ive got all my cranked arms, new brake lines and bump stops etc, but not sure which too get as a starter set before going for the mega money stuff, anybody had the TERRAFIRMA 1s or PROCOMP's on a disco?

all sarcastic comments and know it alls need not comment :D

Had Procomps on my last Disco, got them on my current one. Will soon be changing to Terrafirma as soon as I get the moneys together.

As far as i'm concerned Procomp are ****e, other people rate them but theyre only good for the bin in my eyes.

just fitted a Terrafirma 2" lift kit today from M&M 4x4 beware front shocks are TF116 if gas and the bottom studs are too long on the front dampers, they fit but touch the axle phoned up to check M&M said to bring them back or cut the bottom stud down to size!

.. pretty straight talking, thanks for that :D i was swaying more towards the terrafirma.

Always a pleasure. Best off to get others opinions as many people use things differently...I dont know if your looking for replacements for worn out standard stuff, some gentle green laning or battering the arse out of it at pay and plays.

Get some other opinions before parting with your cash, the search button up there ^ is your bestest friend!

Yea well will do tomorrow! another set to fit soon on my other disco so might cut the first to save on dremmel bits!

thanks for that, you will have too post me the amount you cut off ;)

yeahh i just do a littlle laning and a few steady pay and play days but ill wait for some more feedback, thanks for that :D

My plan on the next set is cut 1/2" off then regrind a square bit on the end just to hold it whilst fitting the buggers

Could try some Rough Country shocks. David at llama4x4 sells them.

Just curious, but what is it you don't like about them specifically? Cheers.

same with pro comp

There is an issue with people breaking the eyes and pins off Procomp shocks but in almost every case this was down to incorrect fitment of nuts and washers.

Ive got pro comps on my 110 they were on it when I bought it 6 years ago and I've abused them. Only reason I'm going to change them is because 1 has started to leak.

I or anyone I know that has fitted them correctly has ever had a problem.

I have seen them used and abused every weekend at trial comps and always been ok. Granted the welding on some of them looks shoddy BUT I've only ever seen them break because they have not been fitted correctly. As the OP said 6 years and being abused is good going I would replace with the same making sure to refit them as designed.

possibly sometimes ,but even with really poor parts its not all that fail and you will find some who have no problems, there was alot of procomp that broke more so than others, and never saw it with cheap britpart shockers (although not the most effective shocker )some fitted poorly to just pro comp ,that as a couple of years ago as dont or havent fitted any since ,fit britpart yellow gas shockers if someone wants reasonable priced shocker
