Still cant get my TD5 defender to start.:(
any ideas? suspect fuel problems. Changed the fuel filter bleed unit up. still non start.

It just cut out on me last week. It will crank but not fire up. so i changed my fuel filter as it was my cheapest option an bleed it up but no joy. I have fuel up to the regulater and i have checked all the electrics + relays ect

did it just cut out , no spluttering , if so id say crank position sensor, if it spluttered then possibly fuel related

u might have a faulty fuel pump though... it's not enough to have fuel there, it must have 4 bar at the rail.

I made my pressure guage out of an old Px Regulator and some clear plastic tubing (to spot any bubbles in the fuel). You can then plug into the Fuel Px Regulator like Sierraferry has said.

Though If it was starting one day and not the next then I would guess that it isn't the pump. Can you hear it run when you turn the ignition to position 2 (and no gurgling).

I think the earth is on the chassis at the side of the transfer case.

You could run a new earth from ECU under the seat to the earth.

If you do that have a wiggle of the relays under the seat at the same time to see if they are loose?
