Goona replace the exhaust system on my SIII this weekend. From the manifold to the down pipe there are threated studs. If I accidently sheer one of the nuts off, should I be able just to tap the rest out.

Simple fix, dont shear them ;)

Try to reduce the chance of it happening before you take them off by using some of that bolt lube stuff, not WD40 the stronger one can't remember the name though

They're double ended studs screwed into the manifold and they're a pig to sort if you shear them off 'cos it's a manifold out job and at least one of them is into a blind hole. Good luck.

You'll just have to hope it was last changed by those wonderful guys atQuick-****, 'cos I am sure they always use brass and anti seize so they can do it easily next time.

I always heat the coonts up to fook cool them down quick and then off they come. If you try and take them off red hot they tend to take the threads with them. If they are gona break cut the down pipe and take the manafold off rather than sheer a stud, bash fook out of the nut and it will shock the threads and come off.

Don't just go fook it and break a stud.

We haven't owned a series Landy for over 10 years but we've still got a packet of 8 brass manifold nuts in the top of tool box drawer. :D:eek:
