i have had a few problems with them but then they just died apparently as my other half has been using the landy then i found out she had used the hazards switch,

bingo bought a new switch quick swap flicked the indicators and click click all is working or so i thought,

went out for a drive today and noticed at a junction whilst looking at the car in front that both my indecators on the front were flashing and my indecator light was not flashing on the dash but my tell tail trailer light was,

then whilst parked up i thought i would try the hazards and see what happened they worked for about 30 sec them pop went the fuse the indecators still worked as hazards tho whilst i was indecating right or left 30sec later pop somthing eles went not the fuse tho,

also whilst flashing my full beam the let someone out in front of me pop went the fuse and no temp or fuel gauge swaped the fuse and they are all fine,

i carnt work it out, posable a faulty new switch? somthing is drawing to much power?

i bought a new one and thats when this fault started as i indicate they all flash was it a duff switch?

If the switch doesn't smell and the fuse goes again - start checking earths.

Many circuits will find a new way to work if an earth is not present as it should be, this can have really strange results -had a motor bike do exactly what you describe with a dodgy earth.

Simply go to each of the indicators, find the earth wire, make sure it is connected, if it is, maybe give it a clean and see where you are.

Good luck, keep us posted.

are you sure you have got the right switch theres many ways indictaor circits are wired up and just because its got the same ammount of contacts on the ack dosesnt mean the switch works the same

May help, a mate who has a 90 had similar problem. Got through a few hazard switches, blown fuses etc; Eventually traced the fault to the loom as it went over the n/s inner wing area (I think by the heater motor). Apparently the gromment had disintergrated allowing the wiring to chaff through. This was an intermittent problem over some time and was a pig to track down apparently and needed the wing removed to repair properly. Good luck

found a small patch of melted wire where the loom for the trailer electrics had tuched the exshaust just happens to have melted through the left and right indecator feeds there for making my indecators work as hazards and blowing the switch.
