Hi guys,

Had the 300tdi disco tested today had a couple of issues I need some clarification on.

1.Service brake efficiency below requirements.

I have replaced pads all round within the last 3000 miles?? Any thing else I am missing?

2. Nearside and off side rear brake recording little or no effort.

As with number 1 already replaced pads what else could it be??

3. Nearside and offside front position lamps not working.

Checked side lights, full lights and main beam they all work, had a look in the light units and there is a small bulb that doesn't light up, what is it?

Thanks for your time

Mike

dodgy garage? i find that when i send a perfectly good car in for mot. they always say....."yup. needs new discs and pads." just so they can bill you for something. as for lights. had a major list with my 300tdi disco last mot. 11 bulb related. for some reason. bulbs and all other electrickery lack power until throttle gets a blip?(pressed) as i imagine the disco was driven in with just the clutch?

Possibility?

at least your mot tester didnt walk up to laughing and say "Take the wheels off and buy another truck"

try wheel bearings, or get the brakes bled. that caused my lack of braking during mot.
wheel bearings where in early stages of going. easy(ish) fix. and i did my pads and discs but didnt bleed them properly. (apparently?) but they worked fine for the 2weeks after changing and before mot?

Will sort handbrake tomorrow, just checked get a bulb out!! How embarrassing!

Actually got an advisory on wheel bearings so will get them changed tomorrow aswell.

Cheers guys!
