Hello,

When towing uphill the p38 2.5 looses too much power.
Would adding one of those chips solve this or would I be better off adding a intercooler?
Im not really into the speed thing with cars but would like the pulling power.

Mike.

Are you sure first off that your fuel/air systems are all in tip top condition? I did a bit of maintenance over the weekend, mainly unblocking the MAP sensor tube, and its made a big difference when going up hills.

Chipping works definitely, I've no experience of an uprated intercooler, but always believed it would make a difference.

If you need a list of essential P38 diesel maintenance then thats available.

no hijacking the thread but adding something to it. My DSE has a full jeremy ferns package hard soldered chip and huge intercooler and yes you get the power towing up hills BUT you also get the heat. if your worried about towing power get the aircon fan rigged on a switch and help with the heat.

now can anyone tell me how to rigg it up on a switch as i dont want to crach my second head this year??? lol

A stat is better than a just a switch. Excess power soon shags the gearbox. A PSI Power box is a simple no risk external plug in job.
