2002 upgrade

hi

my FL is a 2002, was it around 2006 they updated them with the modified fronts etc.

was wondering to see what would be involved changing the front headlights, bumper etc.

apart from the front end modification is there any internal differences please

think it was around 2004 mate they did the face lift models.

mines a 2004 and it has the facelift

iv heard something on here about changing all the front bumper and lights to the new shape on an old model freelander so i do think its possible as most of the mounts are the same

quite a large diffference inside. mines a sport and compared to my old L series freelander the interier is 100 times better. they have black interier and trim which looks nice, and metallic effect trim in the dash, not to forget the bucket shaped seats, swede, leather and a whole new instrument panel.

also the sport is slightly lower with harder suspension which makes it handle brilliantly !

if you can afford the extra i would just buy a the face lift model instead.

Someone did it on ere some time ago. Put up lots of pics too. You have ta do a bit of cutting from memory.

The amount of stuff you've done to yer Freelander, it would have been cheaper ta buy the later model. The facelift upgrade int worth it in my opinion. I've rather spend the money on getting it serviced correctly, and fixing faults rather than a painted bumper.

For most people, it's probably not worth it.

Tbh you can make them look better without having to retrofit it with facelift model parts.



Imo the G4 editions look 10x better than the facelift model. They almost look rugged. I would bet that it's a lot cheaper and easier to add some G4 spec mods than it would be to retrofit facelift model parts.

They do look good as G4's so why not facelift and G4 it at the same time

I prefer mine

she gets polished once a week to look that good, its not that hard or expensive to facelift, just dont go the whole 9 yards like what i did and do the interior as well
I was lucky in the fact that most of the G4 bits came with mine, although someone had robbed the sat nav and spotlights (they were sore to replace)

but i stole it from the guy who was selling it on gumtree, who didnt know what he had
