looking for new tyres for a td6 (running on 20" alloys)seen some nexen roadians for about £100 each has anyone used them don't go off road just trundling up and down the dual carriage ways.
Aswell used to have a freelander and always replaced all 4 tyres is ther any reason why I can't swap the back tyres to the front and put 2 new ones on the back or is it a no no like the freelander used to be.

I've used 17 inch Nexen's on my Van they were pretty good value for money and wear reasonably well

Just shod my Freo with 4 new 'Achillies' 245/35R20's for AUD$600 (fitted and balanced) - would always get 4 new tyres to save any dramas from the 4x4 system.

Nexen are good, I've got some Roadstone Roadians on mine which i think are similar, you can't beat the price, and I can't afford Pirellis!

Not the same as the Freelander, tyre rotation is allowed.

I've just started running the nexens on a copuple of my vans and can't fault them so far, I suppose we'll see in winter what their really like.

I have the Nexen's on mine with no problems but I recently noticed that both fronts were worn on the inside due to tracking. My fault for not getting it fixed sooner. Hoewever when I phoned the local supplier and asked for a price he told he would only fit them in sets of 4 due to the 4x4. Is this true or is he just trying to up sell?

Always best with permanant 4WD to have tyres with similar tread depths or you are constantly working the centre diff and VCU. I don't think it's too much of a problem on the P38, but on the Nissan Xtrail they will void the warranty on the transmission if there is a big difference in tyre wear front to back.

So if you had a puncture that couldn't be fixed, they're expecting you to buy 4 new tyres? What a load of bollocks!

With the Nissan that depends on the tread depth, but if the tyres are 50% worn that's what they said. It was a heap of ****e, made a gaylander look like quality and a P38 super reliable:rolleyes:

got them on now 2 new nexens on the back and 2 continentals on the front feels better and a bit quieter ,but for £100 each plus £12.50 fitting can't go wrong really.I'll probably get another 2 before next winter
at least the new ones are in better condition than the ones they replaced one had a scrubbed edge from a kerb and a screw in it .
