I bought my Range Rover Sport to tick the family box but also because I do some shooting and bit of off roading. I cant believe the hassle I'm having trying to source some all terrain tyres.

I know the Sport has the image of the Chelsea tractor but its a capable off roader and it just seems the market is missing a trick here!

I realised quickly that 20" rims were no good so got some spare 19's cheap but can I find all terrain tyres for these?!?!

Anyone had this problem or even better point me in the direction of tyres for 19" Range Rover Sportwheels, preferably AT's??

Cant believe its so difficult to get this kind of kit for a Land Rover!

Congrats on your Urban John Deere - just kiddin'

what kind of brakes do you have? Brembo?? if not I would advise you to find an even smaller rim - 17" for instance - then you'll have a lot more to choose between...

Doh! Sounds like dropping a rim size isn't enough! The land rover experience centre recommended 19's so thats what Ive bought. Its only when Ive come to get tyres Ive found a problem!

Its a v6 HSE so no huge brembo brakes. I thought it would be a lot easier than this hence buying the alloys before checking out the tyres!

Really confused why getting AT's for a Land Rover is an issue! Maybe its a lot rarer than I thought to off road something like this!

Unheard of would be more like it.

Vids will be obligatory.. :D

And the Chaps may send their Butlers out in a vigilante group to bump you off and prevent the madness from spreading.. :D :D

:):D

Dont get me wrong, its only the Land Rover Snowdonia Adventure day so nothing extreme at all but everyone I spoke to said it would be risky on the 20" rims. Maybe people will assume I am a footballer or a lottery winner and I might pull some totty!

Seems to me there is a gap in the market for AT's for this kind of car!

I've just done an LRE driving experience with these guys Land Rover Experience | Home and they have a RR sport that they take round the offroad course you could give them a ring and ask what rims/tyres are on their's??

I don't know what size you need, but they list loads of 4x4 tyres for 19" rims on Camskills: 4x4 Tyres - SUV Tyres - All Terrain Tyres - Off Road Tyres - 19"+ ::

I'm fairly certain that Goodyear do their Wrangler tyre in that size, but not for sure. But don't worry, you're not the only one - my next car is likely to be a RR Sport and it too will be fitted with A/T tyres and taken offroad, across fields, etc etc! As you say, they are a very capable vehicle but are rarely used properly (like most modern 4x4s).

What sort of off roading are you doing that a Sport won't do on standard tyres?
As Crazymac says, 19s will give you a higher profile tyre, which tends to be better off road, as well as far less prone to punctures.

think im gona try get some meaty A/T Tyres for my Sport sitting on 20", will let you know how they perform.

Redhand, i just done the land rover experience day as well, wanted to try the new rangie but it was broke so i went out in the sport, had standard road wheels and tyres on.
And behaved itself very well i was suprised. although the course wasnt exactly what you would call extreme.

Was reading this months LRO and saw an advert in there, reckon these guys can help - they list A/T and M/T tyres in 19" and 20" so give them a try!

4x4 Tyre Selection

Let us know what you buy and what they're like, may help other RRS owners :)
