ive found another niggly wiring problem, when i first bought this landy seires two diesel there was a switch across the wire to the pump solenoid, this was ok if you remember to switch the power to the pump on start up, but i wanted to have it switched through the ignition, problem is that every time i take a switched feed when i turn the engine over it cuts the feed to the pump, i know this as i have had a test light on it, so can't seem to find a wire that goes through the ignition that does the job, so have had to revert back to the live feed switched. this has a series three bulkhead and wiring with the 2.5 n/a engine

If its the original switch then it might be screwed, or it could be a switch from a petrol, some petrols have a 6v coil and ballast resistor, some of these had an ignition switch that did cut out in the start position.
Somebody had a thread up a week or so back and had the same problem, I think he fixed it by squirting some wd down the keyhole, give it a try.

reasonable security feature.
mates has this, only a press to make button while cranking.
its an old diesel ignition barrel that didnt need a solenoid feed.

i would be tempted to leave alone as it is, hide the switch away and you now have anti theft device, and with the theft of landys on the up every thing you do no matter how small to disable the starter to stop the feckers from starting it, they are not going to hang about looking for the switch.
