I have an immobiliser, it was an easy fit but I won't tell you how I did for obvious reasons. There are a few ways to do it but to be honest I could get around an immobiliser in 10 minutes cos there's no ecu.
The door locks are pointless, you can open them with spoons and all sorts.
A tracker is your best bet.

i would imagine that they would want to get in and out as quick as possible, not fiddle about with immobilisers etc but i do think a tracker is the way to go just in case they use a truck to lift it, and it may lead to more of them getting caught

Thats 10 mins of me getting dressed putting the kettle on, making some breaky, Arming myself, making my way outside to introduce myself to the scum bags. 10mins is better than 2 :D

Problem with a tracker is, if they are organised gang.
I.e the kinda ppl who would lift it onto a truck, they would probably
have a signal jammer in their kit. Which would allow them to say get it into a shipping container, or a workshop and find the tracker :D

Rather stop them getting it off my drive in the first place.

yeh i suppose whatever you do there will always be a way around it, but the more you do the longer it will take to get past it giving you longer to get outside and sort em out

Yup i agree. which is why i dont see the point in a tracker, if you need to use the tracker its too late, its already off the drive.

Decent Alarm/Immobilser, Disklok, Wheels on full lock, and a baseball bat or similar inside the front door.....

Stop them before they get off of the drive.

Also if ever encountering them, when phoning police if they are still on your property tell the police that if they dont come and deal with them then you will! If you happen to mention you think they are armed, you will get a police presence faster than the kettle boiling ;)

i could do it in less than 2.......... open landing window, open fire, close landing window, get dressed, phone me dad and let him know i will be diggin a hole on the farm...........

Haha i cant function without a cuppa n some breaky.

Does he not have any pigs ;)

OP - Haha, you've done what ive done. Read all the stolen defenders threads!

Cat 1/2 alarm, disc lock, and clutch claw must be a minimum. Im hoping the 90 will fit in my garage when i get it. Need to drag a fiesta out of there first. Otherwise im planning a ground anchor and chain it down if its staying outside.

I have a viper cat 1 alarm and imobiliser, It was a good few hundred quid supplied and fitted, Took the boy about 3 hours to fit it got the cert the lot. Admiral who are my insurers dont give a discount for having it fitted(i was that impressed with it i have it fitted to my other car as well)

That was the first thing i did to my 90 before i spent a few grand on it before its paint job. I have also welded the bolts that hold my winch on to the bumper so they cant steal that and the bumpwer is welded to the chassis, Dont trust the scum bags in Glasgow,

We all know that a pre TD5 defender is easy to bypass all you need is a live to the stop solenoid and your away, But i want it to be as noisey and take them as long as possible so that they will **** off and leave it alone
