Just so, if it was supposed to be used to lock in motorway mode it would have a notice on it. 'MOTORWAY (LOOKING COOL AROUND TOWN) MODE LOCK' :D:D:D

The car is no where near pimp boy racer low when in motorway setting.

And 'Low' can be manually selected at any speed when inhibit mode has been selected. Absolutely no where does it mention in the manual that inhibit should not be used for everyday driving.

"if it was supposed to be used to lock in crawl mode it would have a notice on it. 'CRAWL (LOOKING COOL AROUND TOWN) MODE LOCK' :D:D:D Works both ways!

Of course inhibit can be used for other reasons, which I never doubted.

It's the fact that you said..

The inhibit switch is there to hold the car in creep mode, so the suspension does not automatically rise when vehicle moves off going under an obstruction at access height.

And all I said was..

No it's not. It's there to prevent automatic changes between standard and motorway ride heights. (from the manual about the inhibit switch)

To which you replied..

Bull****.

The manual states what inhibit is used for for gods sake. Yes you can use it for crawl mode too.

my manual (1995) says inhibit switch "will prevent automatic changes between standard and low ride height) In the section on towing is also says that should inhibit the eas in standard when towing, supppose that is to stop trailer becoming upset if its nose height alters.

Simon mate you use it for what you want too. The inhibit button is there to hold the suspension in crawl mode or to hold the suspension in standard mode whilst towing. Those are the instances of use recommended and mentioned. Where in the manual does it state that inhibit is recommended to be used to run in permanent motorway mode. The suspension is designed to lower after a time over 50 mph on a motorway, to reduce drag and lower centre of gravity for stability, then to revert back to standard mode on normal roads after a time below 50 mph. If constant motorway mode was a desirable recommendation it would be selectable, why go to the trouble of making it's use automatic? Now if you want to drive around at up to 50 mph in motorway mode over pot holes and speed bumps with minimal suspension travel that is up to you.
Sorry about the bull**** bit maybe that was not called for.:):)

I inhibit mine when i get off the dual carrageway coming into dover. there 3 roundabouts, load of trucks, and holiday makers heading to the docks, and a dont want it changing on me while swerving around a foreign lorry driver who a mindless idiot not looking in his mirrors truing to hit me on a roundabout. wether i remember to press the button again is another matter

For me it makes sense to keep it in motorway.

I remember when it would travel up and down all the time, in and out of villages, etc. And I just never found it better for doing it. I find it perfectly comfy riding in the lower setting.

I have 3 kids from 18 months to 8 years old, and it helps getting those in and out too. Especially for the other half to get the young one in the rear centre car seat.

I do go up on occasions when I’m on a bumpy track for instance, but that’s it.
