Fuel gauge info

Hiya.
An elderly lady who lives just a few doors up from us was looking at the freelander and whilst generally talking she told me that she use to work in a factory where she helped to build gauges during the war
In particular she said that on fuel gauges they always use to put a small triangle or arrow to tell people which side there filler cap is on.
Had a quick look and there was indeed an arrow pointing to the right where my filler cap is.
Now i wonder if your all going to have a look !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a recent feature, and certainly didn't happen (universally, there may have been exceptions) during the war. The other myth is that the position of the hose on the pump symbol will always tell you what side the filler is.
 
talking of fuel gauges is there a low fuel warning light on an FL1 i have had mine to the bottom of the red but hav,nt seen a low fuel light come on
