Sorted out my insurance for the next 12 month's, bought an adjustable tow hitch/plate and bracket off fleabay ... oh and bought a set of Thule roof bar's despite already having some (well they were local). Wife not impressed with my growing collection of landy bit's:D

Took the disco for mot...

It passed!!

With three advisories:-
Front n/s & o/s brake pipes slightly corroded
Front of front to rear brake pipe slightly corroded
Front n/s & o/s inner wing corroded but not excessive

Drove it to the mot tester.........watched it pass its MOT with no advisories and a bit of a bonus found out it was manufactured in 1971 which means its gonna be tax free....:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Then drove it back. :D:D:D:D

Collected my 90 from the local Landy guy, after service and MOT. Pre-MOT inspection revealed missing bump stop, missing exhaust rubber, and a shot rear UJ. Passed MOT with no advisories. Chassis described as "solid", which is very good news for a 24 year old Landy. Decided to put off the waxolying for a couple of months - need to MOT my MR2 in July.

Cost for service and MOT work/test was 300 quid. While I was there, picked up a mint rostyle and a very good rear door for 40 quid all-in. Next up is sorting out a decent spare tyre, and some paint in the Proper Colour.

Replaced my steering box with one I'd fitted new lower seal too. Promptly dumped all the power steering fluid all over the drive:(:(:(
Had to put the old one back on that's leaking from somewhere. Waste of 4hrs.
Now feeling v ****ed off!!!!!

Started my engine swap yesterday. Gotta make a disco 200 tdi into a defender one. Mine is ****ing oil and smoke outa places it shouldnt be

just cut out the seal aound the rear side window and sky light.......then run some black silicone sealant in. Thought it would be a good idea as the old rubber had perished and was falling out.
Made a right f up of it as its so hot here even in the evening that the silicone is starting to cure as it comes out of the gun!!! well at least the glass shouldn't fall out and leak.

fitted a cubby box then decided I didnt like it so put things back the way they were.Refitted me voltmeter, clock and temp guage and correctly wired up the voltmeter with a wire to the alternator.

I broke it....

i no longer seem to have gears!!

Not very mechanically minded, but also decided that i should be!! so trying to figure it out..

I'll post in my own thread tho..
