Removed carpet from boot to let it dry out

removed side trim from boot

looking into boot on right hand side there are what look like 2 relays

one in a blue holder one in a red holder

what they for ???

Also there is a plug which isnt plugged into anything - it has 2 wires - one purple one purple with yellow stripe - whats that for

Also I have tow kit and everything looks wired up - handbook says something about tow light on dash will flash one whn indicators on - mine doesnt !!

What are the relays for then?

The unattached plug may be for the optional 12v power socket that can be fitted in the boot side panels.

As for the dash trailer light that will work if you change the flasher relay I believe? I'm looking to find which relay I have to change myself. So any ideas are welcome!

The relays are for rear wash wipe and rear window

I understand the relay you have to change is the flasher relay - No 6 in under dash fuse box I think

Ill try it cos nothing else left to try !!!

Just had inst panel out and the bulb is ok !!!!

from what ive been told you replace it with another flasher relay specifically for a freelander with a tow pack

just had a look at mine and it has a big Hella jobby there not a LR one

will try to get hold of one a see what happens

Just waiting to see what the delivery charges are to Northern Ireland are before I order one! LRseries.com wanted £19.99 for delivery to NI. Absolutely scandalous! The delivery was going to cost me more than the parts were!!! They only charge £6 for the rest of the UK! Apparently it's their courier that sets the postage charges! I think they need to rethink that!

£20 to post a relay !!!! that ridiculous !!!!

Can they not just post it rather than courier ???

I just posted 2 heated seat switches and a heated windscreen switch to Newcaste - 1st class recorded delivery - £1.60 !!

Nope! Apparently they will only send by their approved courier! So I guess I'll have to be really desperate to order something from them! £20 wouldn't be so bad if I was ordering £200 of parts but not when I only want a £15 relay! Hopefully LRdirect will come back with a more reasonable quote!

And people say eBay are a rip off!
