    Light Weight 2a 1969

Thank you for finding the link out. I did come across this site after a few Google searches. Craddocks is just down the road from me, so hopefully they should be able to help with some aspects.

Ah. That’s a bugger. Different to what extent? I think the left hand side in situ. Not the drivers side unfortunately. .

How interesting. Thank you for that. Mini mokes were a quirky think. Rarer still than a 2a I would warrant. So, parts wise. Most 2a needed for replacing or second hand. Already bought a seat box for refurb from Craddocks

Thank you. I can see I need to do some research into the light weigth in general. The vendor has some original paper work so that will be an interesting read.

He has most of the bits to put back on. I didnt say it was a perfect find, but I dare say you are correct Bobstickle. A find. Non the less. Hopefully, I can source the correct series parts as I go along. It didnt sell for the price shown

    Light Weight 2a 1969

Morning all, Having sold my 90 last year, I wasn’t, sure a Landy would come my way again, but I saw a light weight near to me so put down a deposit. It was been molested a bit and stood still, hence a lot of surface rust, but hopefully, with a few chassis patches here and there and some...

    Freelander 2 Clutch..ongoing issues.

Thanks for the input Arctic 2. They (Crewe garage) have come to collect and say they are going to change it all again and are giving our daughter a courtesy car, but as you say, it sounds like they haven't got a clue. I will bear your place in mind as we are all in Cannock. Cheers

    Freelander 2 Clutch..ongoing issues.

It sound like you have had all the same stuff done as my girl. They do seem to have generally been clueless. She took it there as she was in Crewe and assumed it would be a LR specialist in the first instance. They have said they will look at everything, again. I will maybe suggest the master...

    Freelander 2 Clutch..ongoing issues.

Hello all, I am usually over on the Defender forum, but felt the expertise here would be model helpful. My daughter bought an 07 plate Freelander earlier this year. She spent quite a bit getting any minor things done, as she got it cheap. However, she noticed the clutch pedal kept going to the...

Thanks for all the information and words of wisdom, chaps. I can see your points. Your suugestion of taking some measurements and comparing the Richards one is a very good one. They are not a million miles from me and besides, I would be going to fetch the chassis myself which would make a check...

Hmm! I have heard mixed reports on the fitting of a Richards one, but I suppose at nearly a £1000 cheaper is worth considering, lol

It does. If I went out to it now, once the battery was charged, it would start first click. I have no doubt. Better than my Beetle, which is a bit of a waiting game, while if thinks about it, but that's on a button so probably just the terminals needing a clean, Lol

Thanks for the responses chaps. I am hearing a ringing endorsement for keeping it. The mechanicals are good, the engine being strong if a little smokey on start up. The synch between 1st and 2nd gear is dodgy but I have a mate whose dad can rebuild. I rebuilt a mini one many moons ago. Bloody...

Hi all. Just gauging some opinions please About a year ago my 90 failed its MOT. Usual front outriggers ( back ones done) and some rot near the rear trailing arm mounts. So, spanner in hand I started dismantling with a view to fitting a galv chassis. Do it once was my thinking. Needless to...

    Buying a Freelander 2

Spoke too soon. Clutch gone or rather i think the slave has gone on her car in a roundabout. Fluid everywhere and poor kid had to get it taken away to police depot as they said it was in a dangerous place £150 for the privilege even though the AA had just arrived.
