Hi My Discovery 3 2.7 tdv6 when first started or left for a few hours and then re started has a slight timing chain rattle for maybe 2 seconds. I understand that the chain tensioner relies on oil pressure to fully come up to tension. Is this something i should be concernd about. If so how...

Thanks for your input every one i will try the stall test later on. Providing it shows every thing is ok i will book it in for a remap theres a local alive tuning group near to me. If i re map it before a hd toque converter will it need to be re mapped once this has been done Cheers

I changed the gbox oil about 2000 miles ago, what came out of it didnt look burnt it still had good colour to it. Yes id say it does lock up at about 50mph. Im thinking of putting a hd torque converter in it with a remap. im not after it being fast i just dont like it reving for no good reason...

Does any one no what grease is in the wheel hubs on my d2. Ive removed half shafts for some other work, obviously removing the wheel speed sensors you can get to the bearing cavity i was thinking of putting a squirt of grease in the hole it looks like a blue grease? Cheers Sam

Hi James i have a new output bearing so im going to change that as cause. I removed the drain plug out of the front diff to check the magnet this was on the end of it the oil was changed about 800 miles ago would you say thats normal? Thanks Sam

Hi Neilly I've removed the front prop shaft and the noise appears to of disappeared but im not 100% sure its the prop shaft as it all seems to be free moving with no play :-/

Morning all. Ive Just bought a td5 disco and carried out a service on it yesterday. I thought id check the red plug for oil and yes theres oil in there. Ive removed the ecu and sprayed contact cleaner in the plugs and the sockets on the ecu. Is there any reason why i cant leave ecu off to drain...
