  3. rob1miles replied to the thread Alternator diode?.

Change the diode pack, regulator and brushes as they all fail over time. Most likely diodes but its all so cheap and some of the bits come as a pack so just do the lot. Once the alternator is on the bench its a 1/2 hour job..

I agree, that's my point. The only way to get action is to link the pain felt by victims to pain felt by the Chief Constable and head of the Local Authority. Once they realise pain in victims is now their pain they pass that pain onto their...

You are very unlikely to get any series engine that is ready to run unless you buy a recon as these engines are now 50 plus years old. Assume you have to strip and clean up and probably replace rings, shells and do a valve grind.

  6. rob1miles replied to the thread Series 3 speedo drive.

Take your time doing the preload, its makes a big difference to how the output shaft runs. If there's not enough the pre-load disappears when the box gets hot and expands and this lets the shaft wobble which causes the oil seal to pass oil into...

Agreed, std M16 nuts, should be the same. Just double check that they have the 45 mm in stock not the 40. Someone asked about the spring wrap, its Denso tape or "petro" tape if you are near a Toolstation, use the 3" version, 2" is too narrow and...

I think your question is spot on. Collecting data like this is really important. Our residents battle here about a drug dealing family was first and foremost a battle to show the Police and Council were doing nothing. It was at least as...

Something about living in a gated housing estate in Central London with £2m properties took away the "roughing it" element for me. If you really want to be "part of the great outdoors" try not living behind gates. I too follow Grizzly and Bear,...

  12. rob1miles replied to the thread Series 3 Electric Conversion Kit.

Wait until the battery prices drop, there are some new technologies in the pipeline. Also what ever vehicle you convert it will need a decent chassis and running gear for the extra weight so there's no point starting with a vehicle that has...
