The ignition lock on my TD5 is faulty. At first I couldn’t get the key in, now key in but barrel won’t turn. I believe that Andy Richards in carharrack does parts but is he still doing this as his phone number doesn’t connect. Otherwise any suggestions for a supplier near lanner/Redruth? In an...

Sorted. Most garages I phoned on Skye couldn’t help until new year! Saved by John in Highland Motors of Borve, near Portree. He made a replacement brake pipe on the spot and supplied a replacement for a missing calliper bolt. Highly recommend highland motors.

I’m visiting the Isle of Skye from Ireland with defender TD5. Yesterday brake pedal occasionally went soft especially at low speeds. Suspect brake master or servo problem. Anybody know of independent LR repairer on the island?

Thanks I think I’ve solved it. I noticed a small vent on side of the top part of the air filter housing and the pipe seems to fit this

I’ve just replaced my crank position sensor and took off part of the air intake to get better access. Incidentally I found removing the flexible intake allowed easy access to the cps from above.
I noticed a small rubber pipe below the air filter. I don’t know if became detached when loosening...

I’m presently visting Scotland from donegal with my 2004 TD5 defender. Currently on the Isle of Lewis and the clutch has started slipping on hard acceleration. Any recommendations for independent garage in Highlands and Islands who can replace clutch? Also what sort of price might I expect...

Thanks, I’ll try the grease and brown paper suggestions. Iceland is a wonderful place to explore with a defender

My defender 110 has an embarrassing problem, he’s leaking some oil from his rear half shaft at the wheel. It is coming out of the dust cap. Not a lot of oil but started when traveling the rough gravel F roads of Iceland. I could top up diff or get it repaired (prob not cheap in Iceland). Any...
