  2. Grrrrrr liked martyuk's post in the thread P38A Can the air suspension be controlled without the entire wiring loom?.

The ride height switch uses some form of serial communication to the EAS ECU from memory, so don't think you would be able to use that standalone to raise/lower the vehicle. The control of the driver pack is just s 12V high signal to activate...

  4. Grrrrrr replied to the thread P38A p38 Rang Rover 2.5td Torque Converter Lock-up.

Viscous will roar on startup as it will be locked. As it warms it will quieten down and then as the needle starts to go past 2 o'clock it will start to lock up again. If it goes quiet a few minutes after starting then it isn't locked. If you can...

  5. Grrrrrr replied to the thread P38A Swollen nuts.

On my rims there isn't a lot of room around the nut so when it swells you cannot get a bigger socket in there.

No choice but to either cut the covers off or try to find a socket that will fit. Not much good if you are on the road and have a puncture.

  7. Grrrrrr liked Datatek's post in the thread P38 Tailgate Trim.

I made some new screw fixing tags out of thin alloy and bonded them in place on other broken plastic parts, I plan to try the same tactic on the tailgate trim.

  8. Grrrrrr liked Saint.V8's post in the thread L322 Oh Dang it - This is a bit more serious - Head off time I think.....

[MEDIA] Had opportunity today to whip the Cam Cover off and take a closer gander. As per @biketeacherdave good friend Johns suggestion, there is more room with the cover removed, Still not a huge amount, but much better. I may just be able to...

That far end by the bulkhead has a bracket. You've not trapped the bracket in there?

IIRC someone had a test rig they could control the driver pack with independently of the EAS ECU. Might have been @pwood999 or possibly @martyuk ?

Oddly enough, same here although mine is hanging on at the moment. For £80 it'll be scrapper or sod it.

  13. Grrrrrr liked Nipper4761's post in the thread P38 Tailgate Trim.

I was taking something out of the back of my P38 and managed to snap off the trim from the top of the lower tailgate. I left it in the back intending to refit it at some point. The curly-haired general used my car to go to the tip and chucked...

You can pull the covers off but mine are pretty good on the whole. Maybe you're just unlucky? The Disco 2 ones have the same thread and fit but you have to get the right year as some years had smaller heads.
