Fairly dangerous doing any of that. Bottle jack is better for wheel changing. And your Ninety isn't a Defender, they weren't made until 1990! ;):)

So why bother with a 4.6 over a 4.0 or a V8 over a diesel. Why bother with a turbo on the diesel.....

Maybe someone more familiar with engineeering should have written your post tbh. EGR, or exhaust gas recirculation is a means of introducing an inert gas to the combustion cycle to reduce Nox emissions at peak combustion temperatures. It works...

As the others have said. It’s down to the tyres. Most Defenders run a circa 32” tyre (7.50, 235/85, 265/75). While most Disco 1’s run a circa 29” tall tyre (205/80, 235/75). Mph/1000rpm is practically the same for both. However also as...

I don't like wide wheels, with or without the arches. They limit the capabilities of the vehicle in a number of ways, without any particular advantages, and are expensive as well. Other than that, excellent work, should be a nice motor.

I know of the 50th Anniversary Defender with the 3.9/4.0 V8 and ZF 4 speed auto. The NAS with the 3.9 V8 could I think be opted with the auto as well. But I might be wrong on that. I didn’t know the 3.5 carb was available with an auto box....

Ok. I suspect a few things are going on here. The little info bullet points are either pulled in from a database based on the reg number automatically. Autotrader use something similar and it is often completely wrong. Or the seller can...

Nearish to London in which direction? Do you have an idea of budget. It isn’t likely to be cheap.

Heystee have a good reputation. Although they are in Europe so can prevent issues if you do have a problem. As they’ve aren’t exactly down the road for most of us. I’ve also found they don’t always have everything in stock and build in batches....

Depends how many miles a year you are doing. A Tuned Tdi isn’t most likely only doing 21-24mpg. A good V8 should avaerage 17-19mpg. A difference. But if annual mileage is low to moderate it might work out at only £20-50 a month more to run.

Nice. Just as a side point. It looks like you either need wider flares or different tyres/spacer removal. In the U.K. wheels sticking out of the arches is illegal and against construction & use regulations (has nothing to do with the MoT). You...

Depends on your end goals and what sort of fab work you want to do. The Heystee kit is one option. But pricey and to make the most requires the rest of the steering to be in good shape. Tbh good stock steering really shouldn’t be that bad in...
