P38A Can the air suspension be controlled without the entire wiring loom?

Is it possible to run the EAS system without the rest of the ECM/BECM and wiring loom? For reasons unimportant to this thread. Such as using the EAS system on a different vehicle, or using the p38 as a stripped down off roader, is it possible...

  2. 300bhp/ton replied to the thread Winter Tyres: On road only or can be off road too?.

Just get some good AT’s with sipes in. Winter tyres are often a softer compound. But it’s the sipes that make the most difference. These are what make them good on ice and frosted/compacted snow. In deep snow and fresh snow however, mud...

  3. 300bhp/ton replied to the thread 19J and Series gearing.

3.54 diffs are a cheap solution. But do impact low speed crawl if you like to off road. There is a gap between 3rd and 4th. You just have to hang on to 3rd a bit longer. The biggest problem is people and perceptions. Seems that they want 4th...

Rocky Mountain Spares for the door tops. Aluminium not steel. Pricey, but if it’s a keeper then probably worth it.

The beam pattern you can check yourself. As for the strict legalities. Well fitting higher wattage bulbs is just as illegal. Or running at 72mph on a motorway. For the most part, if you let common sense contribute. You will most likely be fine.

Just as a side thought. If you are contemplating a rebuild. Consider sourcing a 3.9-4.6. The low CR 3.5 makes way less HP.

  7. 300bhp/ton replied to the thread Oversize Tyres.

    1. Why? 2. What’s your budget? 3. What’s your intended use? Off road use you’ll be able to fit smaller than if you are just wanting a posing pouch aka “mall crawler”. 4. What do you consider not modifying? Pretty much anything bigger than...

Are you happy with the price? LED lights can be expensive. Check out reviews on YouTube to see what they look like. Some are not great and still expensive. Make sure you get RHD ones. Cheap ones might be for left hand drive. You could opt...

  11. 300bhp/ton liked Trailstar's post in the thread 200Tdi S3 88 - PAS - Long travel suspension - Rebuild.

I love the logic that's gone into your suspension setups....you made me think a lot and changed the ideas that I had for me own project... I will make a note to never argue with you about suspension ideas in the future....:p:D

Yep true Trac is an ATB. The Ashcroft is arguably a better designed. As Ashcroft looked at the weak points of the true Trac. Good info here. Make sure you view the desktop version. Not the mobile version of the site. The latter doesn’t have the...

This vid explains better than I can. It is speed sensing. So it’s locked nearly all the time. Only cornering on high traction surfaces will it unlock. [MEDIA]
