Thanks. Sadly Horseshoe Lane has a Voluntary Restraint on it to drive it West to East. Think I'll have to plan to return at a quiet time and try it the other way round though. Bit of a lack of passing places if you meet anyone, so can see sense...
If I plan a route I never know if it’s good 1 way. Do look at contours when planning.
Make a few notes about sections & if there is more about being better the other way you can reverse the map direction.
Just need to remember road junctions &...
While laning this year we also did the famous/infamous "Bastard" lane, properly known as Horseshoe lane.
It's another one of those lanes you see people driving badly on YouTube and making a complete hash of it. You can see it on the ground too...
Yes - nice to see some controlled and respectful driving.
And very reserved vehicles that are simply capable.
Vids like these make me want to get an old 90. My wife and my bank manager say different!
Good driving by everyone. I often see that lane on YouTube and quite often the jacked up monstrosities make a proper pigs ear of it.
Have you got a What3Words location for it?
Don't think a home amateur mechanic is going to easily or reliably measure cam wear tbh. And it won't tell you the state of the lifters.
And even if in perfect condition, an aftermarket cam is going to offer more performance......
Yes the tornado chip is the only 'tune' I'm aware of. As far as i know it's not possible to hack the EEPROM. Otherwise Tornado would have done that.
At 100k+ miles the original cam will be worn, it might last 500 miles or might last another...
Why post this same question on multiple forums at the same time. Do you not believe the answers from one forum and want to play them off against each other or something????
So a Tdi is likely to return 24-28mpg real world. They can do better, but you'd really need to try. A V8 is going to use more fuel, more like 15-18mpg and up to maybe 20mpg on a run.
Don't know how many weekend miles you'll do, but making a few...
How short a range? As in what sort of annual milage? If you aren't doing many miles, then a V8 may not cost all that much more to run. And would open up a lot of choice.
I'd also say keep an eye out for the 2.5 VM ones. The VM unit is more...
Hello. Me again wishing to provide an updated account of my air bag failure experience. At the risk of attracting pitchforks at dawn and threats of being burned at the stake for P38 heresy, I asked my local LR specialist to fit a coil pack from...
There won't be any height difference just by going for a road tyre, unless you change size. Which is an option, but depends what size you have now. Smaller tyres will also impact gearing. It is all possible however.
In terms of tyres... do you...
It's just not a thing in the UK, nothing over here bar maybe some specialised plant machinery uses exhaust brakes. TBH I'm not even sure if they would be road legal without checking the regs.
Better trailer or loaded less would be the easy fix...
How heavy is the trailer when loaded?
Honestly, I'd suggest a custom exhaust brake setup is likely going to be way more expensive than a better trailer.
I don't think anyone is saying it isn't a thing. They are mandated for most cars drag racing if you go over 'x' speed or run 'y' time. But rarely are they a factory fitted item on most vehicles or 4x4's. And certainly never in the case of the...
Britpart propshafts are standard, not aftermarket. They are a pattern part, but in the UK would be considered as per factory. Not really heard of props breaking, certainly not standard ones on standard vehicles. Hence no Land Rover has ever had...
Blinding you... how? Are you laying down in the vehicle looking out of it??
I'm also not convinced interior temps will really be all that impacted by having a sunroof. It isn't a huge area, not compared to all the other glass on the...
I have found very little in the way of suspension or off road upgrades for the Freelander.
Are you really sure a longer spring will give more travel? I'd have thought it was the strut that would determine how much droop there is. A longer spring...
