As suggested Clutch Thrust Release Arm.... Managed to free it off with gentle lub over 3 days and a good wiggle back and forth.(good grips and a bar)Take off the slave cylinder to give more wiggle room. Seems this was reason clutch was slipping. Pity workshop manuals dont mention checking this...

Thanks for advise re clutch thrust arm seized up.The arm does return but not far enough to fully release the clutch. Yes think you are right. I will try a little lub on pivot if no joy the gearbox will have to come out again.
