Anyone on here had success with carrying out a window regulator re-thread/re-string. I've had to replace the central locking actuator on the drivers door and on reinstalling the regulator managed somehow to de-thread the regulator. Spent the last hour, of what should be a minor job, trying to...

Just wondering ... if a D4 does NOT have SatNav installed as an option, what is involved in fitting it? Is it simply a matter of installing a SatNav equipped head (as available on eBay) in place of the existing unit ... or is it a bit more complex than that? For example .. could a 2014 head unit...

I heard somewhere someone suggested using one side of a pair of multigrips. undo the bolt holding both sides together and use the curved side to carefully lift them out. apparently worked well

can anyone tell me what is the typical pressure or max pressure I can use to check 2001 Disco 2 TD5 auto cooler. I suspect there may be a fine hairline crack and can't get enough uuumph blowing into it (human uumph only a couple of psi )

sounds a bit like an internally failed vacuum unit (diaphram/spring or both)

thanks james, I'll give it a go and see what happens.... can only be better than it currently is ... I think :-) My main concern would be in lining up the shaft again during reinstallation if the housing is worn (oval shaped)... I've heard of a few people having this problem

which will mean machining and fitting a new sleeve in the probable oval shaped housing :-(

on a further note... when you have replaced the injector loom, don't just through it away. give it a soak in petrol and a final rinse with metho and it will be as good as new. there really is nothing in the loom to fail... it's just wires and connectors!! :D ... saves having to buy another down...
