clouds of smoke from exhaust, high revs, turned ignition off but it kept on running for 10 or 15 seconds, then loud noise. Engine wouldn't turn over after that so had it towed to a garage who said it looked like turbo gone and engine seized

well soreeee - sounds like I don't know what I'm doing - you're right , new to forums, cars everything. People have no patience, just like drivers on the road, think I'll give up then and go for public transport

Hi - I just wondered if anyone could offer any advice. My 2004 Freelander TD4 has just blown up without warning. The garage says the engine has seized and needs a new one and a new turbo. Now we're not sure whether its worth it - the cost of a new engine, new turbo and labour will be phenomenal...
