I had a loss of power when accelerating. The air intake pipe that connects the air filter to the intake manifold bridging the engine collapsed in itself when accelerating, then restored to normal shape when ticking over. New pipe transformed performance. Obviously you can’t see this happening...

If you go for the 4.4TDV8 then you will get better mpg. The 8 speed gear box more than earns its keep over the 6 speed 3.6 - so, counter intuitively, the bigger engine gets you better efficiency. I have never had any issues with Turbo’s and I think, but don’t know, that this more of an issue...

All sorted. Two different key fobs from the bay. One came with unbranded side pieces and i managed to transfer one good side piece and attach my key to the second. £45 and £22 respectively. Both now work marvellously. I have not had two good working keys for years. Should have done it ages ago...

Ah, I misunderstood - so if the camera goes kaput - it still works as an ordinary reflective mirror?

I had the same problem and it was basically the lambda sensor throwing a fault causing it to go into restricted performance mode.

Thanks. But i’m not sure that I want to substitute a camera for my rear mirror. Cameras are unreliable and where i use them, likely to get covered in mud, whereas i can always rely on my mirror.

Lol! Surprisingly, the RAC sub contractor did. Ran full diagnostics, found lots of faults, including the ride height control module. Tried to reset the ride heights, clear codes, but all to no avail. It’s with my usual mechanic now, so I’ll probably know tomorrow or Thursday.

Towing is one thing I want it for. keeping an eye on a trailer. Which camera did you use?

True. The fan blades smashed in the water then the rad overheated at low speed up a steep track and literally exploded! Now use an after market fan with a switch. Have upgraded from Keith’s Air con hack.
