Range Rover Classic - 16" Tyre Sizing.

Yes it is (6x6) but rear axle trailing rather than active. The 31.10.50R15 fit with no fouling. However I'm changing to 16" wheels.

Range Rover Classic - 16" Tyre Sizing.

Yes. 31.10.50R15 will work however the 15" rims are no longer safe. I also want to have 16" rims because there are more tyre options available. The 285 75 16 is a much taller and wider tyre so unless I try the 285 70 16 for starters and go from there. I'm also debating on converting to a auto...

Range Rover Classic - 16" Tyre Sizing.

What is the largest tyre size that would fit a RR classic without rubbing, scrapping on a 16" rim? Our RR came with 15" rims with BF Goodrich Radial T/A 255/70R/15 which lowered it and also did not have much grip. They also worn very quickly.

Series 3 Suffix D Gear Box - Needed.

R Whitehouse for sure! I'd have loved to repair it myself but time is against me. Because of where I am I'll be getting another box as a secondary unit. That one I'll rebuild myself. Thank you very much.

Series 3 Suffix D Gear Box - Needed.

Happy New Year!! I'm after a clean and working Series 3 Suffix D gearbox for my series LR. I'd also like recommendations on who can rebuild a series box in the UK. Jimbob.

    109 inch front seats

In my opinion the thicker 'Deluxe' seats are no good because they lessen leg room and bring you forwards to the steering etc. The simpler seats for me work the best because they are thinner, fit better, are easy to move about and if needed you can simply add a cushion to the bottom or back to...

Less Is More. The LR Series lives on.

I didn't want that method. But if it works for you all good. I use my series daily in Kenya so wanted a system that is robust. Design Development could have made one like what Forbyn Bros offer which would have addressed the issues you mention. I also wanted the option of keeping the series...

Less Is More. The LR Series lives on.

After months of deliberation I decided enough was enough! I tried a heat gun and that worked but the process was slow and painful (because I burnt my fingers!). So I got paint stripper! The glue used to stick interior panels and cushion must have been made to hold elephants down for good. I...

Disc Brakes for my Series 3. After a lot of thinking and then researching I manage to source a decent and reputable source for the disc brakes I need for the conversion I want. Forbyn Bros (California) have them! Fitted to a Series 1 This setup is compatible with defender calipers...

    Series 1 109 body, defender 110 chassis

Update.... God Lord!! If you have the time to scrap a bit of paint off your series and bother with a bit of touch up paint, new seats, upgrade to a V16 engine with independent suspension, triple disc rotors and calipers off the NASA shuttle you then become a millionaire overnight. I have...

    Series 1 109 body, defender 110 chassis

Forums!! The above is the correct situation regarding the series body to 110 chassis. Series 2 body fitted to a Defender chassis. The tyres stick out a little due to the wider axles. Also if you look closely the series wheel arches are less than of a defender and therefore are closer to the...

PERFORMANCE PARTS - Air Filtration. I thought I'd give this a go and see/feel the difference. They stated '15% fuel saving and increased performance.' So be it! I parted with my cash. Now, before I go any further I'd like to explain why we get stuffed! The good folk who designed and built the...

I decided to give it a go today. Move that spring inwards as far as possible without making a special tool for it. I managed to compress the coil spring enough to see the retention clip but not enough to remove it. Bugger me!! That spring is one tough one! 5mm flat bar was no match for it...

Less Is More. The LR Series lives on.

I ordered new ones from a local supplier which I fitted. They did not fit and were out of shape! New or old!? Because of this I sent them back. They had obviously had something done to them. Whatever, I wasn't going to keep them. The existing drums worked perfectly even despite the scoring...

    1. Is a turn signal stalk not a throttle. These were on the series II's, Good ones are very expensive to buy. How it was. Simple! High beam switch next to the clutch (you can just about see it) in this phot. Inexplicable!! I know the original stalk works so why do this!?? On a series III yes...
