Have removed the carbon canister before in other cars I've had but just want to make sure it's ok to do on these things. Only want to remove it for abit more much needed room in the bay. So is it alright to do without causing any problems? It as simple as unplugging it and blocking off the pipes?

Fitted twin electric fans at the weekend, and today the were running for a long time whilst driving at good speeds so lots of airflow so I'm thinking that maybe the water pump has gone. The fans are set to switch on at 88 or 92 degrees, can't remember which. The rad is also hot all over so that...

Do all the 3.9 V8 radiators have the 2 oil coolers either side? 1 for the engine and 1 for g,box (auto) Only asking as I need a new one but having to go second hand cos of the price.

Simple question, is it the transfer box that's different between the V8 and 300tdi manual gearbox or is it the whole lot? Only asking as I want to convert my auto V8 to manual and might be getting my hands on a cheap 300.

Just a quick question, the big earth strap from the N/S of the engine goes to where on the chassis? Mine isn't connected :rolleyes: I can see it's clipped up next to a PAS pipe and then ends near where the jack would normally go, somewhere around there I would assume? This is on a D1 aswell.

Just filled up my V8 with LPG so I now know what mpg I'm getting on it now. Now I want to calculate the equivalent petrol mpg I would be getting if I was paying petrol prices, but don't know how, and googling hasn't really helped. Anyone able to explain how? :)

I've just got a new 3.9 V8 disco1 that had starting problems, which I've now solved and it starts on the button everytime. But, it runs very badly on petrol, smoke coming out of the exhaust, sounds rough and won't really rev past 3000-3500rpm. However as soon as I switch to lpg it runs lovely...
