hi all can any one help i have a 1984 land rover 90 2286 cc petrol engine is strong but a bit slow i was thinking about putting a 2.5 turbo cant afford a tdi for the moment. wot are the engines like and would i have to change the bell housing for the td to fit in?

Hi all can anyone help i have a 1984 defender 90 2.5 petrol and want to put a 200 tdi engine in. Do i need to change the gearbox also or can i keep the 5 speed box in very new to this and not sure wot to do
