MOT test stations are being inconsistent re testing class for 110 station wagon 300tdi 1996 (5-door: front row, second row plus sideways-facing bench seats)
The vehicle has been tested as class 4 on all the previous certificates I can find including last year's.
When try to book a test at...
Does anyone have a parts diagram with the part number for the gear/shaft that drives both the vac pump and oil pump? That is the one that meshes with the gear half way along the camshaft. It goes between ERR500 and ERR528.

Does anyone know where I can find a cam profile diagram/coordinates for a 200TDi? I ideally need one of the following formats.
1. Raw cam lift (including ramps) vs cam angle or crank angle.
2. Theoretical valve lift (cam x rocker ratio) vs crank angle.
3. Measured valve lift vs crank angle (...
When doing the first 40Nm we get to #18 in the sequence then #1 has slackened slightly because the gasket has compressed further since it was first tightened to 40Nm. I would tend to check them all again in sequence and probably a third time so that they are all starting at 40Nm before the 60...
The head tightening sequence given by Elring on the leaflet enclosed with the gasket is a simple "centre outwards" spiral. The standard one in my manual is a more scattered affair. Which sequence are you guys using?
Cheers.
The 200Tdi I just dismantled has no holes on the thickness tab of the head gasket. Most sources describe 1, 2 or 3 holes although Turner also lists a "no hole". Does anyone know the spec of the no-hole gasket?
Cheers.
I just took apart a spare 200Tdi engine and there are round depressions on all four piston crowns corresponding to the exhaust valve heads. These look too uniform to be valve contact witness marks and there are concentric "machining" marks. When I offer the removed valve up to the depression it...
Hi my buddy's having problems with his 200tdi revs running away.
It revs up and away as soon as he fires up.
We think it is not lube oil as he's disconnected the inlet at manifold entry and disconnected the breather system.
It sounds like something with the fuel injection but I can't think...
I am continually having issues with short service life of metalastic type bushes. Are high quality versions of these available? It seems that there is a lot of tangential twist in this part for such a narrow cylinder of rubber. I am loathe to opt for poly if there's no way of keeping grit out...
Sure I've been here before ages ago and the forum knew my username. I have, however, been invited to say hello as a new member so here goes: Hello to everyone and hope she's purring sweetly. :)
