Mine stopped working Replaced battery noticed one leg on holder had broken solder joint Re soldered but now won’t work after 5 quick presses Is there any way of checking that remote is actually working?

My 2003 td4 had the cyclone mod but having read various threads am thinking of reverting to original however am I right in thinking it is held in with a clip of some sort? Obviously I won't have it , is it available as a spare part?

I have ordered a service kit off eBay I have the Haynes manual and utube videos Is it an easy task for someone who is reasonably mechanically minded?
