Iv'e been putting off changing the cam belt on my 98' diesel Hipo for far too long now and feel i have to get on with it.... i know my way around a spanner but it still looks rather daunting at the moment. Do any of you know of any corners that can be cut...any tricks of the trade!! that will...

i'm thinking of changing the timing belts on my 98' 2.0 diesel freelander,is this doable,has anybody got any short cuts or should i re-mortgage the house and pay someone..:(

When excellerating hard ( From standstill normally )in my 98 XEDI i sometimes get a sudden and not to mention embarrasing loss of power followed by a massive plume of black smoke out the rear end :o ( the car not me) and all is well again. It does'nt happen very often but always seems to happen...
