The last few weeks there has been a noise coming from the front of my 200 tdi motor. The noise sounds just like a belt slipping or rubbing so I though it must be either the power steering belt or the alternator belt but I took both of them off and it still made the same noise with no change...

I have a 1993 110 defender with a 200tdi in it that took in a bit to much water and as ceased the motor and have been told that it would cost to much to fix as it need reboring now. I am in New Zealand and land rover motors are not that common so have not been able to find any till this week...
