Looked at a high mileage (170,000),Landy yesterday which though is a little ropey is mechanically sound and has no rot(maybe a little on the top of bulkhead).Are there any obvious pitfalls of buying a high mileage 200tdi and is it worth the asking price of just over £6000..

Seen a low mileage 95 110 which has according to seller has a four pot Perkins engine.Not worried that these are slow as would only use for local excursions,dogs etc but are engines reliable,do they over heat,are many mechanics around who can fix them and are parts easy/ cheap to obtain.

Hi all....a bit about myself..46 year old biker,off road and on road has finally decided to pass car driving test and am currently looking for either a 90 or 110 300tdi defender. I live in Wiltshire on the edge of the Plain,have 3 dogs and work close by so a defender will suit my needs...
