    Steel wheel nuts!

I agree with the above. A wheel nut is a wheel nut. I run wolf wheels on my series and td5 and am In The same position as @miktdish with the studs half a thread short and have no problems. I have not bothered swapping to the longer wheel studs and the military didn’t either and just issued the...

    Drive Before I Decide?

This ^^ In a 90 you can carry people, things,, the dog. But only one of them at a time. If you need to carry more than one thing at a time you need a 110.

Help? 2.5TD bad oil leak above/near steering box LHD

The rear heated window switch should be down by your knee between the steering wheel and the door. If you have a fog switch there then I would remove the little three switch panel and see if the wiring for the heated rear window is still behind there and just unplugged. However believe the...

Freelander 1 Buy this and tow it behind a Freelander !

Exactly as above, a normal trailer does not have the novelty or fun factor, and again I have most of the parts to do it. i would need to source everything required for a normal trailer rather than just the hitch.

Freelander 1 Buy this and tow it behind a Freelander !

Because I will have a spare (replaced with galv) chassis and rear body. What else am I supposed to do with them? Plus there is a big “because I can” factor. That is the sort of thing I am looking to do although I think I will stop at the bulkhead rather than add the faux wings and bonnet...

    Rear Door Storage Solution

If you are concerned about the look then fit a spare wheel cover and it will look original. This is possibly what I would be looking to do anyway just from a security point of view. If you make it look like a spare wheel rather than storage no one is going to break into it. But you can get all...

Thoughts on my potential first Landy (90)

What are you concerned about by having a landrover for general uni life? I bought my 110 when I was 18 with the very first instalment of my student loan. Best investment I ever made in my opinion. I than had it as my only vehicle through university until my third year when I then spent my...

Thoughts on my potential first Landy (90)

Completely agree with the above. A 90 can carry people, things, or the dog. But can only do one at a time. And as mentioned any more than 4 people and it becomes cramped and uncomfortable. If you want to carry more than one thing form the list you need a 110. I also have concerns and would want...

Thoughts on my potential first Landy (90)

At that age mileage is not relevant and you need to buy on conditions. Firstly of chassis and bulkhead, secondly on mechanicals. I have over 400k on my ‘89 110. But only a few body panels have actually done all of that mileage There is no easier vehicle to learn on. And that’s exactly what I...

Alternator AMR4249 Britpart 19081712. What's the correct Pully for 300tdi?

I would also question this. having recently put a new britpart alternator on my 200tdi it came complete and ready to fit with the correct pulley already fitted.

    What's this Landy worth?

I would agree with the 8k maybe a bit more depending on condition of other things. Although I am not looking for a V8 so these prices will be lower I paid £2250 18months ago for an ‘89 110 station wagon with no v5 (exported but never left) and very little chassis and bulkhead left. I am...

    Remote battery switch ...

That is why I have a low amp fused bypass on mine. Enough to keep things powered, radio, tracker, alarm etc, but as soon as you turn the ignition on and the glow plug tray kicks in the fuse will blow! You just need something similar for the alarm etc. but I dependant of the ignition circuit.

They are but with some work and revealing of the box and dash you can get a reasonable heat output from them.

Old lift up door handle conversion to series style on 110

I have the military anti burst locks so door handle is down by your hip same as the fronts. So it is no issue form that respect not having a door car.

series 3 swivels - is it possible to refurbish swivels, Pt No. 539741

10 years and counting on my 110 with nearly 200k miles on them. So I would say the Teflon lasts pretty well!

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

I ran britpart poly on my panrod for a while, when they fail you know about it instantly, and being poly they are only about 10 min to swap over so I was not too worried about fitting them. They lasted me a couple of year a set with the mileage I do so did not do badly. I am currently running a...

Old lift up door handle conversion to series style on 110

You are not the first person to suggest that. I am happy not to have door cards but passengers and the wife, who are used to modern plastic cars, seem to think that is rather uncivilised.

series 3 swivels - is it possible to refurbish swivels, Pt No. 539741

Are britpart making chrome wones again now? There was a time where they only did the teflon ones, although they are reasonable and I have had no problems with them on my 110.

Old lift up door handle conversion to series style on 110

That’s the issue I have found. No replacements or aftermarket seem available for the second row split doors. Only the originals which are either wrecked, in use, or cost more than a whole Land Rover!
