    Help! I have no drive

That will be the problem then: I know others have had similar problem. But just to show it is not a new issue with modern parts. When I sent these pics to my dad he sent back some photos of him with the gearbox out of a Toledo at the side of the road which had done the same thing and...

    Radiator replacement

Definitly name the shop! As above, just the rad is fine and you can fit it in the frame yourself. Just be aware as also mentioned above you will need to remove and reuse the il cooler adapters. While on radiators is there any need to upgrade them? When towing recently i get I was getting a...

    Front radius arm removal

I agree on principle that removing both is not a problem as you regain alignment whe. You refit. However from expiriance of swapping bushes on one and both radius arms. To get it lined back up and the bolts in requires a lot of prying, ratchet strapping, swearing, etc. so it is not as...

    Front Axle - What Type?

Clearly you can run without them and people do, but they are a very cheap and easy to fit piece of protection that I would not go without. Considering how thin the diff pan is, it would not take much of a knock to dent or damage it. Especially if you drive you land rover like a 4x4 rather than a...

    Drive Before I Decide?

The hard top being heavier than a station wagon is purely anecdotal. In the autumn I swapped my hardtop body for a station wagon body. With no doors fitted it was much easier to manhandle the station wagon body into place than it was to lift the hard top body off. These days Facebook market...

    Collecting wheels/tyres

Second this. I have done it in my 90 with 750s on wolf rims, So only slightly smaller. Stacked one on top of each other. But they do wobble around a disconcerting amount while driving! I can also confirm as an fyi to anyone else that five 35x12.5’s will fit in a 110 hardtop. But only just!

    Windscreen bracket query

I think they were “diy”. In that you just drilled and tapped them as part of the roof rack fitting. Same with the rear supports that need capping drilling or the longer version that runs down to the crossmember bracket. I do not think they are a bespoke Land Rover part.

    Front Axle - What Type?

That is fairly common. You need to fill the diff guard with waxoil or similar to preserve the diff pan. I would not run without the guard personally as the diff pans are very thin.

    Front Axle - What Type?

Why do you think the axle may not be original. It is just because the rear has been changed? Axles are very easy to rebuild so unless there is a very good reason they are not something people tend to change. Especially as the front already has disc brakes rather than drums. On a separate note...

    Windscreen bracket query

the bolt hole is so you can fit a heavy duty or extended roof rack. They have supports that bolt down to the rear crossmember and that bracket on the windscreen. Pics from Google:

    Help! I have no drive

I have had that before. That is the only other clutch failure I have had in the 330k miles I have done in the 110. I guess modern clutches are “better” (I use the work loosely given current circumstances) similar to modern brakes and do not wear like they used to. I will throw up some pictures...

    Help! I have no drive

Yes and I deliberately chose the 111 as it is a 200tdi from a disco to replace the wonderful power house piston cracker 19j it came with originally 😉

    Deformed Piston bowl

I am not an expert in this sort of internal engine diagnostics so wait for an adult to come along and give a proper answer. But over fueling can cause pistons to melt. So maybe an injectors issue on that piston if that’s the only one? Also as a shameless plug. If you do need to replace them I...

    Help! I have no drive

I did consider LOF, which variant did you fit? But because of the mixed reviews I stuck with the one that I know and am used to. This is the first time I have had one fail. Usually mine get changed because the gearbox is out for a rebuild rather than because it has worn out or broken. This is a...

    Help! I have no drive

Are you trying to say the mighty 111bhp (when new, although well maintained so am hopeful not too many horses have escaped) is not a huge amount of power? How very dare you!! I am, at this point, just guessing that that is the problem, but will post up some pics of the wreckage when I split the...

    what shocks to use

You can use standard shocks with a heavy duty springs, you do not need to uprate the shocks as well. I have this on my 110 with a winch, uprated front springs (same as 90 rears for reference), but still run the standard factory shocks. All you need to do is match the shock to the spring length...
