    Almost Stalling

    Chaps, bit embarrassing, it is basic. I think the handbrake is sticking, so after long distances it releases but if short distances it is on, hence noise described. Off roading tomorrow so with get handbrake covered and will clean out after that....panic over

    Folks - any ideas Defender 90 - 200tdi. Had one off incident when coming to a halt in a garage, the car shuddered as if it were going to stall. I tried it again and the same happened. Clutch was fully dipped and has never been prob before. This happened another once when leaving garage...

    wash your mouth out.....200tdi are dog doodas. You can find probs but then that is LR's in general..if you want character...go for it

    About to do mine as well. I have heard the camping mat followed by a thin carpet is best. My old landy had just thin carpet and it seemed to work fine. Will watch thread to see if others have different views

    Help - Dodgy Steering after P&P

    Daylight brings the answer - I found that the actual bracket connecting the pan hard rod to the axle had sheered (the weld). A reweld, tracking, and me £50 lighter and we are sorted. Does make the day a bit expensive but it could have been worse.
