    Newbie

Welcome from fellow jock. My advise is learn before you spend, LR's are great but I spent dosh on the wrong things and missed out on the important bits that can reduce costs longer term. Focus on the key stuff with oils being my big learning point - cost me a transfer box. Good luck

i want to joining laning club.

Not sure there are laning clubs..just clubs that do some laning amongst the other things, offroading, shows etc. MROC are 1 example and I am a member but to be honest, the laning is infrequent and, I personally, have not got a great benefit. I do some local off roading and semi regular laning...

    Welsh Greenlanes

So which maps tell you what green lanes are good ? I sense the chap was looking for some advice from those who have been before rather than lines on a map....not unreasonable really. Apologies, I cannot help, only done those north of that in Strata and beyond.

    Recovery Rope

Ok, still of view that for a few extra quid go for extra tonnage, especially if off roading, clay is common and 1 or 2 ft of mince is enough to stress a component. These components are made with a FOS not such that you eat into the safety factor when you buy them, take your own view,Cheers

    Recovery Rope

For you to consider LR Def 90 for example - fully loaded 2 tonne and add to this a difficult perhaps hilly area and further more a large dash of mud - you should be looking at something beyond the tonnage you outline. Just my view, appreciate that shackles etc survive beyond this but still...

    Hello!

Hi, welcome. For my part, it is great learning before you buy your final truck so if your going to beat it up, get something cheap and cheerful until you learn the trade. Other than that, standard checks, bulkhead, good gear change with no backlash, chassis no holes, cross member in good shape...
