    Needle scaler psi

Mine has a "power adjustment" screw on the bottom... I often need to wind it down for the unit to work - if it has too much air, it doesn't oscilate and just squirts air out... But Mine is ancient, and hardly used.

    Disco 1 Filler/glue/sh!t/designer compound required

You might be surprised at what's hiding behind that sealer, even on yours. My Disco spent 6 years is Japan, then 20 here... it wasn't nice - the sealer causes the corrosion on these joins, not the salt. We probably get quite a lot more rain here in Northern NZ than you though ;-)

    Disco 1 Filler/glue/sh!t/designer compound required

Water has enough surface tension to bridge a 5mm hole, so bigger holes are always better.

    Disco 1 Filler/glue/sh!t/designer compound required

OOps... 🤣 You mean the stuff that used to be dribbling from this hole??? I used the same seam sealer I did for the other parts, and tidied up inside the trough too. Redid all these joins as the original sealer actually caused rust! Which was somewhat common in the 90's. Then I put a bead on...

    Disco 1 Filler/glue/sh!t/designer compound required

Their sealer is crap. You need to scrape it all off, and replace with a decent seam sealer, or even a urethane (NEVER use silicone on a car!). You'll also find, right up the top, under the end of the scuttle cover, where all the panels are sandwiched together, the sealer will have split too...

Will a land cruiser engine fit in a land rover defender 110

It's a big, heavy, hungry, 6 cylinder. Might be better to fit a big, hungry, Rover V8, which will use about the same amount of fuel, but be a lot lighter and a ****load cheaper to buy and install - Or just buy one pre-fitted and save all the hassle.

    Its broken.

OK... I'm 3 rums in, hopefully I don't sound like too much of a cock, BUT... Just start at the beginning of this thread and actually check the bare basics as suggested. So far, there's been a whole of of time wasting and money spent with incompetent "mechanics" and the bare minimum checks...

    brakes not braking

I wonder if you have a flipped seal in the master? Can you use a pressure bleeder on it's reservoir type? I brought a really cheap weed sprayer (like 6 pounds) and used an old master cylinder lid (on my Disco 1) with a good seal and fitted the hose to it, with a tube nut on the inside, that...

    Question for the photographers

Bulk Rename Utility. You can select the files and alter the names in all sorts of ways. You can append, remove last n, insert at a position, all sorts. It's free too. You could also divide the photos into folders and rename those in each folder, then move the back into one gib folder for...

    Engine oil Discovery 1

40 should be plenty, as long as it's not all ****ing out the sides of knackered bearings 🤔 You need enough flow into the bearings to replace what comes out. They don't need pressure in them.

Advice needed Evoque P300e cracked hybrid battery casing

And there is a void in the top "corner" that looks like it was introduced during casting. That greeny goo was probably factory, or workshop applied. Stick with their first story, and tell them it needed replacing! If you'd shelled out nearly 11K, would they have backtracked and returned your...

    Engine oil Discovery 1

Are we talking about a V8? or Diseasel? Either way: 5w-40 will flow better when cold and be about the same when at 100C. Any driving you do below 100C oil temp, the 5W will give microscopically better economy than a 10W. Side-note: On my Mrs old BMW that was used for multiple short trips on the...

Really confused - R380 gearbox issues on Discovery 2

Just to be clear/pedantic - the spigot bush is in the end of the crank and is what stops the input shaft waggling around at the front end. Replacing all the other flywheel and clutch components doesn't change the bush - It might pay to check very specifically that it was done... but EVERY garage...

I *think* I saw one of your vans yesterday... the Ambo it basically changed lanes into, slowed down quick enough to avoid a collision 🤣 I'm assuming they were following the SatNav prompts, as a couple of Kms ahead the council roading morons force everyone into a single lane to continue on the...

Do these use the LCM from the BMW E39 and similar (E53 X5 and E60 5 series)? I had an E39 some yeas back and fitted the later LCM4 with has quite a few more coding options. Mine was from as X5, but as long as you match to the headlight type (Halogen or Xenon) the rest could be coded with BMW...

Let's talk about bushes ( no sniggering please)

I've got a set of polybushes for my Disco 1, but haven't fitted any yet. My daily car ia a VW Touran that I fitted a Golf R32 drivetrain to. My wife has a standard version. I used PowerFlex on them: The entire front end on mine is polybushed and half the rear. Hers is mostly done in the front...
