What have you done to your Freelander today

Looks like we are seeing the first hint of winter here next week - changed from 18" Sport summer wheels to 16" winter wheels with studded winter tyres.

    Low annual mileage

I have done multiple diff oil changes with a manual vacuum pump and then used the Transmax bottle to pump the new oil into diff. It's doable, but not enjoyable. Recently I found a cheap electric pump meant for diesel and stuff. It did the oil change nicely. Pumping the old oil out was actually...

Good picture there. Any taller tyre size means you should use something like 30 mm spacer to get enough clearance.

Looks like 1 bulb change is half a day job...any tips to get to those bulbs behind the heater knobs?

    D2 brake master cylinders

Yes, removed the old one and added a new one. The story is that I just replaced brake hoses and front calipers. Before the job I had nice braking and good pedal that didn't sunk to the floor. After replacing the hoses and calipers tried to bleed it, no luck. I don't ecen know how many liters of...

Took the car on wheels and drove it carefully on my yard. Breaks are very poor, car will eventually stop but wouldn't drive on public roads. So back to bleeding then.

This design is somehow different than any other abs system? Like Freelander from the same era?

    D2 brake master cylinders

How can it be normal to have the pedal sink to the floor? It's closed system, where does the fluid extend if it is not leaking?

    D2 brake master cylinders

Still not done with bleeding. New master cylinder in place and done numerous rounds first bleeding the ABS modulator with Foxwell tool, keeping the pedal down and air screws shut. Then going through every corner in order both manually pressing the pedal and by using the Power Bleed in Foxwell...

It was definitely struggling especially with the fresh 75w90. Old oil was still warm and thinner after driving, it came out quicker. It's not used daily so I'd expect it to last several changes. Should have got 2 of them...so cheap.

Changed the diff oil again. Found a cheap 25€ 12V pump that makes this task easier. It's not meant for gear oil, but it did the job, both ways.

And yes I have tried all the possible bleeding orders, including one in the manual :)

Really? So pedal can be slowly pushed to the floor even when it is properly bled? Maybe I have to test it then on my yard and try the braking. It's now in my garage front on jack stands.

Yes, thanks for the good lucks! Bleeding seems to be a bigger task than I thought. Done both bleeding with Foxwell and manually and have air in the system.

Got this TRW part yesterday from Autodoc and installed today. Tomorrow bleeding when I get my mate to help with the pedal.

Will change the brake master cylinder soon and wondering what is best option for the replacement. I have year 2000 Discovery, LHD. Lucas? Britpart? Any recommendations?

Engine oil and filter changed, also new cabin filter. Since I bought this FL1 TD4 little under 2 years ago, it has been driven 8000 kms and done 4 oil+filter changes.
