When I first got my RRC i researched what oil too. Asked a good few folks about the best oil etc, was told to keep it simple and keep it mineral for the V8. TBH I just change the oil every six months :)

Stick with a decent filter, dont really think there's much in it tbh. Usually about £6 for a filter and job done :)

Oh and it should be 5.2 Litres for an oil change :)

IMHO your engine should use mineral oil and the "classic" stuff 20W50 should do the job. Another good oil that a lot of V8 owner use and like is this one Lucas High Spec 20/50 20w50 Racing Oil 2.5 US gallons on eBay (end time 26-Jan-11 13:48:35 GMT) I think as long as you change it regularly...

Aye the non genuine are usually crud alright. I've used this part however on my 3.9 with no probs and it solved my woes. You could opt for the LR part to make sure it's genuine all the way ETC8496 TEMPERATURE SENSOR COOLANT | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series

Start with the cheapest option, CTS(coolant temp sensor) is only about £8. If this has gone it doesn't let the engine know it's getting hot so chucks fuel at it like it was cold etc. SENSOR-TEMPERATURE

Let us know what youve tried if anything. Fuel/CTS/amp could all be suspects ............ Oh it's like cluedo :)

Looks similar to the one I have at the moment on my RRC mines is the 12000lbs version and has pulled a good few cars out of very sticky places :) I upgraded the solenoid to an albright one though just to be on the safe side ;)

WORKED!! Key went in a lil bit, held open the latch for about 30-40 seconds and it started moving then freed up totally :) :) Nice one, just should really have had gloves on :D

Pic? Anyone asked for them yet? :D Ok these heated door locks I've been hearing about........ How ye activate them? Mines is an SE and I've never noticed them. It's got heated mirrors/front screen/rear screen/ but not sure bout locks :(

Change of thermostat would be my first job, not a great time of year to be forking out for kenlowe fans, save your pennies and get em in the summer, there's bound to be one hot day :D Try putting your heater controls on recirculate and turn the heat to cold on your controls too and see if this...

:D Take your battery to a local motor factors to get it tested, make sure your antifreeze/screen wash is at a good mix. Most important ;). Blankets or heavy jackets incase ye get stuck :D

Get that dizzy checked !! And yer timing. It's really not as hard as you think. Trust me I'm no mechanic. Far far from it but with a lil help from yer forum friends, you'll get there:)
