P38A Alarm system flashes - battery empty

Not everything. Disconnect the blue antenna wire only. Once you sort the FOB, it will work next to the window (near the receiver), but local RF interference will no longer wake the BECM & drain the battery.

P38A Alarm system flashes - battery empty

Red box is AM/FM amplifier. Says so on it. Window thing is aftermarket whatever. Last pic is he RF receiver & blue wire is the antenna to disconnect.

Also check the wires inside the MAF connector. They are rather close to the EAS pipes on GEMS, so could have an intermittent connection.

Freelander 1 Automatic M47 smoking black smoke

As above, plus various other possible causes: 1) Gummed up crank breather allowing oily fumes to the turbo inlet side. Cheap & simple fix is to replace it. 2) Injector fault putting too much fuel in. Do a leak-off test to make sure they are all in the correct range. 3) Turbo seals failing...

P38A Alarm system flashes - battery empty

@Frank_38 read this thread https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/p38-battery-drain.364514/#post-4994309 and go through the battery drain checks in BECM SID attached to post #32 in that thread. That will confirm if the problem is the RF receiver or something else.

Yes disconnect the RF antenna. It's the most likely cause.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Moved one back a bit on the drive to allow easier access to garage !! Yesterday, was in a 2024 Audi A6 rental car my son got from the insurance after his Jag was hit in the rear. Interesting bit was we were on the M4 heading to Bracknell, but the Audi Sat-Nav was a bit confused. It...

    L322 Subwoofer silence issue

Four possibilities: No power, no audio feed, blown amp, or blown speakers. Scrappers always say either "working when removed", or "tested & working". Personally I don't believe either on electrical parts!!

    P38A Questions about Headlining

There's 4 drain tubes - one at each corner. The rear pair have joins partway down the C-pillars. Can't remember if the front pair do as well though. Definitely NOT high pressure water. Last time I did mine, I use a lentch of 2.5mm main flex to loosen the much, and then poured a jug of...

    Today's experience not so great

Usually RF interference waking the BECM, so disconnect the RF antenna from the receiver. It's under the offside rear shelf.

@britaddict add your town name to your forum profile. Might be someone nearby that could help with RAVE.

Although I agree it's unlikely to be the IACV, worth checking & cleaning anyway. Are all the LPG hose secure on the manifold ? Prob worth cleaning the throttle body & checking for leaks there as well.

The Blaupunkt one is 400€ or £450 from a UK seller !! I put one of these in my Blue P38. And yes changed the backlighting to green !! Sounds good, and because the speaker outs are floating (effectively balanced), it worked out of the box with the HK amps. No attenutors or transformers.

    P38A Cut out problem

Check crank sensor & connector. It's down the left passenger side of the engine, & a common location for oil or moisture to get in. When it dies, do other electrics cut out as well ? I had an issue with the main battery connection on a fusebox, and had to open it up to re-solder.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Usually jumper links to split the battery into smaller & lower voltage sections. There will also be a main contactor to isolate the battery from the BMS when required. Many now have low voltage jumper somewhere to allow emergency services to force the main contactor off & cut the power.

P38A Another p38 head unit thread

Steering buttons depend on what type & brand you go for. There are adapters for most of the mainstream suppliers like Pioneer, sony, Kenwood, etc. If you're going Android then every unit I've used has SWC Inputs, and you program the steering buttons for whatever function you want. No adapter...

    Freelander 1 Front brake squeal

Not based on any fact, but my guess would be with grooves slanted towards rear of car, then the inner end hits the pad first & at slightly slower rotational speed. Maybe less pad impact, therefore less noise & pad wear ?? Only real way to tell would to use a Tapley Meter to measure the...
