    New Radiator

As to why would you buy an L-series the answer to that my friend, is that there was no such thing as a TD4 in March 2000, when I bought it. Its the second L-series freelander I've owned making a total of 150k trouble free miles covered. Its needed some preventative maintenance but never let me...

    New Radiator

Hello, just thought that I would share with you the problems of obtaining and fitting a new rad to my L-series. There are many sites advertising new rads for next day delivery on the web but when you check, the prices are different. I ordered one which took a week to arrive and was the wrong...

    Mondo mode

:blabla: I have recently reverted to 4x4 after about 3k miles in 4x2 drive while I was renewing VCU bearings. I have to say that I did not notice any difference in fuel consumption. (I take the average for every tank fill) I can say that she drives much better in 4x4 and the gearchange is...

    L Series Vibration/Booming

IIRC there was a technical bulletin and recall about this and it was to do with the position of the inlet pipe on the air box. The noise is I assume resonance of the air column in the inlet tract. I have an 2000my XeDi and remember reading this. If I find it I will post the info on here.

    Freelander 2.0l xdi dipstick problem

yep! I had the same problem only the plastic tip blocked the dip stick tube and I couldn't replace the dip stick. Had to strip out and clear the tube, a right waste of time! If you have a plastic blob on the end of your dip-stick, I would break it off or file it off before the same thing happens...

    L series

hello, can anybody tell me how many L series engined freelanders were made? I guess that would be from 1997-2000my. Mine is still going after 102k miles with no major problems...yet. If LR had stuck to this engine and maybe tweaked it a bit they would have had far fewer problems!

    Dipstick won't go back in...

Hi Freefall I had exactly this problem. I have an L-series diesel engine and the plastic button fell off and jammed in the dipstick tube. I couldn't plug in dipstick and in the end had to remove the tube. Can't remember what has to be stripped off first but it is an easy job. Tube just pulls...
