    Tea on the Tailgate Meets

I attended my local meet last night, only a few miles from home. Some other owners had travelled an hour or more to attend. It was a nice relaxed meet up with a variety of land rovers.

Thoughts on my potential first Landy (90)

Being a student has quite a significant effect on the viability of buying and running a Landy. Firstly, affordability. Insurance and reliability as mentioned, and fuel and general running costs. Also, consider the theft risk. They do get stolen. It is quite possible that yours will get taken to...

Thoughts on my potential first Landy (90)

It looks nice in the picture. However, look beyond the paintwork, alloys and steps. Make sure it’s not just tarted up. The engine is not original. It’s most likely from a disco 1. What does the seller consider a nasty repair? If the chassis and bulkhead are original, they will have had or likely...

Hi and welcome! Lots of good help and advice on here. There’s good write up in the members projects section of a disco 2 V8 project too which might give you some inspiration.

    Saying "Hellooooo"

Hi and welcome! Much safer than a motorbike for a mid-life crisis!

    What's this Landy worth?

A galvanised chassis and originality will make this desirable. £8k sounds achievable. A new set of galvanised body cappings and a polish up of the bodywork would work wonders.

Some clubs will be more responsible than others then. GLASS is the best bet for green laning or pay and play sites for off roading.

    Cubby Box Organiser

I’ve got one too (a metal locking cubby box, not stained curry tubs!) to fit to my 90. You can but internal trays for cubby boxes from the likes of Mud Stuff, but at a price.

A small amount of AF tools

Worth keeping for a Landy as you never know where Land Rover have used odd size fixings!

Greenlane association or local off road clubs for green lanes.. If you want off road fun, go for a pay and play site here you can get stuck and winch away to your hearts’ content.

    Roof rack

There were two types of mounting on Brownchurch racks. One was the clamp type, which has a small section of tube welded to the outside of the leg and the other was flat feet with holes which require the gutter to be drilled. You have the latter. If there are no tubes on the legs fpr clamps, you...

ERIC's 110 feeling the love again

Might be worth getting a second hand sand blaster. You could sell it at the end of the project to someone on here looking to do the same.
