P38A Reverse lamp, electrickery knowledgeable peeps, what do you think?

I've got 2 sockets, the one in the pic with the white cover is the one I used. I 'believe ' that is the older version of twin sockets when wanting to tow a caravan, run a fridge. I think nowadays that a single socket is used with 13(?) Pins to do the same job but I'm just guessing. The white...

Job done. The lamp has very short leads so these needed extending about 6". I had a bit of 2 core in my 'I'll keep that, might be useful one day' box so that was soldered and heat shrink wrapped and poked through the rubber socket franger, bit tight but it went through. Terminals used are...

I think the wiring would be OK , i was just concerned about the becm handling it without getting grumpy. I intend wiring it to the aux caravan socket which has reverse wiring in it so that will be fine. I might refit the old reverse bulbs to get rid of the message and fit the led ones in me...

It came today then left again as I wasn't in, bugger. I'll go to the depot tomorrow and collect it , stretch the p38s legs a bit, dual carriage way all the way for 6 miles.

    200tdi clutch slip

Take the little cover off and, with a helper, there should be a little movement of the pedal before the pushrod moves, that's it basically.

Ordered the above lamp after having a quick look at the other socket I have on the back. Not sure what it's for even though I replaced it 3+ years ago because it was already there but rusted out. Its got a white coloured spring cover rather than the black that the other socket has and the black...

All too common now. 'Luckily' my evri guy leaves stuff around the back for us, no knock, no card, I just have to check every morning at his favourite place if I'm expecting something. Only yesterday I heard a knock at the door, took me 10 secs to open it to see a crappie van with no signage...

It's the halfords off road ones I used, not impressed tbf. The hole in the wheel well is where me water runs out :vb-lol: , assuming you mean the bung hole near the turret with the thread in it?

    P38A P38 2.5DSE 1999 Electrical niggles

@h1tchiker All fairly common faults and have been covered lots of times on here and other p38 sites so a search for range rover p38 blend motors should bring up lots of info. I've done the drivers side heater motor without removing the dash ɓut not the passenger side as that's OK. Removing the...

Brilliant! Never occurred to me to use the trailer wiring. I've got the socket on the back but don't know if I've got a reverse feed there or is it somewhere else on all 38's regardless?. I did redo the socket 3 yrs ago as it was a rusty mess and it works fine towing a trailer but I didn't know...

The heater problem is bringing up the book symbol at a minimum. Windows are probably the switch pack switches.

Can't see much when reversing in the dark, replacement led bulbs from halfords a bit better but still poor. I've spotted a durite(usually good quality stuff)reverse lamp that will fit quite neatly under the rear bumper for around £30. 6" wide, 1" high, 1"deep. Screenshot of the spec below. Bit...

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

For what it's worth...I've fitted rear abs sensors to the front on my 2001. Two front aftermarket sensors failed within 12 months so I got a pair of rear secondhand wabco ones off a breaker and the differance is in the cable length (bit shorter)but they still reach. Rears, as we all know, tend...

Yes. Weirdly she ran well as long as the tank was 1/2 full or more. When I saw the gunk I thought maybe the pump was OK but a test showed it to be dead.
