Take care mate. Hold on to those doors :)

I think they're good chassis, but after my issue I read of others with similar dimension differences. It sounds like you're in a good position to check one, so jobs a goodun!

    Shocking, rear shock, shock

I'm not surprised. A serious accident waiting to happen......like a ticking time bomb! Very scary stuff

Another vote for doing it yourself. I did and it was a great experience. I used Richard's and the nearside tubular outrigger was 15mm out. ie distance between that outrigger and lugs on rear cross member for tub bolting was 15mm too short. Take some main dimensions off your old chassis before...

    More heat in the Cab

I knew you would have thought about it. Get it patented mate

    More heat in the Cab

Epic. I'd be very interested to hear how the heater works when you get it back on the road. What thoughts have you had about pulling more heat out of the engine? Any thoughts about it affecting it's operating temperature? I've no idea, it's just got me thinking :)

    More heat in the Cab

Is that plumbed in the cooling system? Nice shiny gearbox

    So, here it is.

When the first pictures of the new defender came out I was critical, as were most defender enthusiasts. As their numbers have increased on the road they have grown on me and now I look at them and think hmmm :) Not in a Halle Berry sort of way, obviously! But attracted, none the less. Good luck...

Brake bias Vv on 90 300tdi.

Might just need a union nipped up Phill. Last time I looked they were very expensive. Hmmmm, that was about eight years ago though :D

Brake bias Vv on 90 300tdi.

Pretty sure those units are sealed, so I suspect one of the pipe unions must be leaking. That is the brake bias valve Kev and it's fixed to the bulkhead. The bell housing is the round, flared out end of the gearbox that bolts on to the back of the engine block.

Brake bias Vv on 90 300tdi.

Are you sure it's the brake bias valve that's leaking Mick? It should be mounted on the bulkhead, below and slightly to the right of the brake servo. A leak from the bell housing could be the slave cylinder leaking.

    Pleased to hear that! :)

    MOT repair work costs?

Nice people, but a set of comedians. I wonder if they ever delivered the correct bulkhead to anyone! I ordered a 300Tdi and got a 200Tdi. Unfortunately, I'd paid to have it painted before I realised. Was a pain having to create new fixings so I could fit everything back in the right place. I...

    MOT repair work costs?

Agree about the steering box mate, but that's very different to the body not being secured to the chassis properly.

    MOT repair work costs?

As Brown said, it does sound like body panels and steel reinforcements are in a bad state, such as the steel angle support that runs across the back of the tub and through which the tub is bolted to the rear chassis. The front seat belt anchorage points also mount the front of the tub to the...

I think I've used my second fob before and then the other one has worked. I've also done the ignition key and door technique to get the code sorted. I've got the instructions in my handbook, but I suspect neither of those things are any use to you :(

Hmmm, I think they can lose synchronicity somehow when the battery goes low. I've had this happen to me when I've changed the battery, but I can't remember what I did to get it working again. I'll have a think! Do you have both fobs?

What he said ^^ The batteries don't last forever and when they go you get the symptoms you described.
