Cheers, that connector burnt out a couple of years ago and I soldered it the same as the ones on the LH side, the only one I am not sure of is the one beside it.

I have done this to 2 pairs of mirrors, it is a faff but can be done. I haven't needed to remove the star clip but when undoing the adjustment motor where the mirror clips in there is a slot. I have clipped the end off of this which allows it to pass through the body otherwise you will be there...

Did you check/re-seal the valance screw clips, I chased a leak for years and then sealed these and many years have passed since and still dry.

From what I remember when it first happened to me someone had said that the 50% latch movement was to prevent the door from opening prematurely. It did require the latch to be fully closed again to reset itself.

When this happened to me I pushed the door hard to close it and then it worked, I had to do it a couple of times though, the latch seems to go into a state of limbo if it doesnt release fully. I have had it happen on one of my rear doors too, same procedure worked. Just a thought

I certainly agree, sometimes it is a right royal pain, but worth it in the end
