Just googled it and you're correct about removing it. I find it amazing that a safety item can be removed and isn't picked up on the MOT.

I thought that if it was factory fitted, it needs to be on the vehicle. MOT might be interesting

Depends where it is, double skinned panels are a pain, because of access. Also, if the dent is on a swage line, not so easy to repair. But try a "dents away" type repair. Look at the reviews though

I'm after a front mudflap for my D1, I need the rhs, drivers side. Preferably an original LR one, with the mountain logo. Doesn't have to have the bracket, just as long as its in decent nick. Thanks

How about taking it to a sign making company, a neighbour is a sign maker and made some for a motor bike, I once owned. He scanned the old decals and made new ones

There's a guy in our village who has had them for years. He's still got one that he uses daily. You don't see that many D1's of any type.

That's what I fort, it was the crank shaft that threw me.

Bubbles in the coolant usually point to a head gasket, but it could be that it's air locked. Try opening the cab heater to hot and raising the front of the engine up..on stands or facing up hill. Then add coolant really slowly, when the engine is cold.

It's paid off then, credit where it's due 👍

Sorry, I can't help with you enquiry, but I know that you need to use GL4 gear oil in certain gear boxes. GL5 attacks certain bronze fittings. But you're talking about the engine.

Well done you, that's more electric fiddling than I could have done. I bet there are plenty of owners who are spending £££'s at garages, who are just fitting new pieces, trying to get the lights to go out.
