    Engine/all electics died when indicating.

An intermitent short somewhere between ignition and indicator circuits. I guess they are closest together in dash, so probably best place to start looking.

    Help.......

Errr! what do you mean 3 other bags gone! If you mean they all need replacing I would get the second rear one done before trying to pump it up!
  3. kernowdragon

    Help.......

No tools necessary, and gripping it with something is likely to damage the pipe. Just lubricate it and grasp as tightly as frozen fingers will allow. :)

    Help.......

If by gold bit you mean the collet, it should be in the bag port before pushing the pipe in. It sounds like it's not sealing properly, so could be scoring on the outside of the pipe. You could try cutting back the tip by a few mil (5-7), making sure end is square (could also chamfer the end with...

Tips on How to remove the Viscous fan

That must make you the bravest P38 owner going!:eek:;);):D

    Frozen door handles any tips

Keep a can of De-icer in the house not the car, and treat all the locks/handles to a bit of WD40! I find the rear boot button the worst for it, although the front drivers wouldn't open the other day, after I'd opened the window and the snow got down inside the door!

    Buying advice

P38's needn't be money pits if properly looked after! 7 seat kits were available and show up on fleabay etc every so often. They weren't factory, but from one of the custom houses, Overfinch I think.

Please watch cctv footage of theives eyeing up how they can get my 90

Just a thought about the timestamp on the video... I'd put it right asap, cause if anything happens the police will almost certainly discount it as evidence if the time is wrong, having discovered this from personal experience. It allows the defence to claim it is inaccurate and get it thrown out.

Is your Rangie ready for the cold snap??

never mind 24 hours in the cold, there's usually plenty of grub in mine at any time of year!:D

Is your Rangie ready for the cold snap??

Jump leads, blanket and tow gear always in the car anyway. Will be fitting new set of Cooper ST's in next week or so, which should take care of any traction issues!

    Crunchy brakes?

Are you not getting any fault lights/messages?

    Crunchy brakes?

I'm assuming you mean on the disco? My p38 does something similar now and then but then it's fine for ages.. i think it's that the abs vacuum is depleted and hasn't had a chance to recover, cause it's usually when braking at the end of the drive just after start up, and then it's fine.

    Ride Characteristics?

Nope, not normal I'm afraid! (assuming you're parked on a level surface and it's not self-leveling) Could be air bags themselves leaking, or damaged pipework, or a joint somewhere, or worst case the valve block. You need to set it to high and then go over them all with soapy water looking for...

    p38 coil conversion

:amen: The EAS might sound frightening if you're not familiar with it, but there's plenty of reading on the subject around, and any reasonably compentent person should be able to sort it without resorting to returning to the stone age:behindsofa:;):D

P38 Cutting out when Changing down

what was the root cause of your blown rads, cause mine's done it twice now too, first time the water pump had gone, second time the viscous fan had gone, but I'm still getting totally random overheating episodes and am getting very frustrated with it. (and yes it's had a negative sniff test...

Largest Legal Tyre Size – Series III 88” with 5.5 Defender Steel Wheels

As far as I'm aware the only way tyre size could affect an MOT pass is if they stick out beyond the confines of the wheel arches, there isn't a specific size limit over which it would fail, (unless VOSA want to get fussy over the accurracy of your speedo readings!). Whether a particular size...

EAS possible compressor problem – What do you think of my diagnosis?

Will be interested to hear how you get on with the gen 3's, was thinking of a set for mine. Have already switched for gen 2's (about 18 months ago) on the front, as they needed replacing anyway, and found them much better.

    RR insurance

Update: after a little ringing around, ended up with Adrian Flux, at a price better than last years renewal, never mind the disgracefully inflated one from AA!
